2018 Ford Lauderdale Air Show

Post by JeancarloRuiz » Thu Dec 07, 2017 3:04 pm

2018 Ford Lauderdale Air Show

The Ford Lauderdale Air Show will be back on Fort Lauderdale Beach May 5th and 6th. This years show will be headlined by the United States Air Force Thunderbirds.

I sure hope the show improves vastly as it has been rather lackluster the last couple of years since it came back. I will keep this topic updated once more information is released.

Thank you!

Lucas Oil Airshows and the Quicksilver P-51 are the recent additions.

Matt Chapman's Embry-Riddle sponsored Extra 330 has been added to the list. Also noteworthy, the show is from 12-4 so there could be a flyover of some kind.

Perfomer Added:

1. " L-39 Cold War Era Jet Demo "

In comparison to shows of the past this years lineup is pretty mediocre. We can expect a SAR Demo and Super Hornet Demo to be added to the lineup in the next month or so.

The self-proclaimed “Super Bowl of Air Shows” lived up to its name in 2012 and 2016. Last year was good but not enough even with the F-16 and the Super Hornet

The 2016 show was a major let down considering the amazing lineup of performers they had brought that year. You can't have a good airshow if your flight box is a mile away from the crowd.

Yeah, that would be due to Hurricane Sandy. I honestly didn't have a problem with the aerobatic box

As expected, the latest confirmation is the Coast Guard SAR demonstration.
