P&W Joint Testing Exercise with USAF (Miami, FL)

Good morning from Opa-Locka!

- I got here right on time for some air action. There's an F-16 and an F-35 up in the air. I got a picture of both birds taking off that I will post shortly.

- F-16C did a power climb at the center of the runway. F35A cruised high above the runway.

- F16C did a low approach over the runway and F35A followed.

- lot's of noise.

- F16C did a two low passes over the runway followed by a high speed pass then a hard break to set up for landing.

- F35A did two passes high above the runway followed by a loud afterburner pass and then a setting up to land.

- Both planes are grounded.

We had some mighty and loud visitors this week in South Florida. The F-15's from the Florida Air National Guard were in the area for a second weekend in a row conducting a training exercise.

The aircraft were stationed at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport. This is to add to the increase of military aviation that the area has seen in the last year. South Florida has been gifted with a lot of visits from Air Force, Marine, and Naval Aircraft.
