It probably doesn't bode well for a Thunderbirds performance if the show is adding acts this late in the game. I got tipped off to another big act that was asked about being available on short notice just in case. Waiting on an official announcement one way or the other.

Any word on the USAF Thunderbirds appearance? I’m planning on attending either way but just curious as to why they’re waiting till the last minute to make a decision.

No announcement yet. People are going crazy on Facebook about this. Doesn’t help that there are a bunch of trolls saying that they are or aren’t cancelled without any proof. I’ve worked with the Air Force before, and in my experience they tend to make decisions at the last minute. Not to say that they’re slacking or anything, but they have a lot of work to do to get ready to return to air shows. I’m sure they’ll take a long look at where they are as a team tomorrow night and decide whether or not they’re ready.

They were supposed to make an announcement today, which hasn't happened (yet), that leads me to believe they will not be at the show, but that's the most 'concrete' information I've seen/heard.

Based on their last announcement, I think their intent is to perform. If there is no announcement, then the assumption should be that they are coming. They definitely wouldn’t cancel without a public announcement. It shocks me that JB Charleston doesn’t seem to know yet either.

It appears to me that If they’re waiting this long to make an announcement then they must be trying everything possible to be ready In time for the show or else they would’ve done announced something by now. We should have an answer by tomorrow because don’t they usually fly to the show site on Thursday’s?

That is definitely possible, but imo it's just as likely they will delay a cancellation announcement as late as possible to better increase the economic impact for Charleston. Yes they do typically fly in Thursday, so that would be the most likely time for them to publicly cancel/confirm.
