2018 Gary Air Show (CANCELLED)

Due to financial constraints, the show has been grounded for 2018. They look to resume in 2019. The show was also cancelled in 2017, and two other times since 2013. The city is in a financial recovery plan that limits spending for this event.

There really was never an option to hold it in 2018 anyway. After 2017s cancellation, the next attempt was going to be 2019. It really depends on how much support rallies behind it. It may become an every other year show after that, if it doesn't get dissolved completely. Always a great location and it did great for the city. Just some tweaking needs to be done to make it sustainable.

I hope this show does come back in 2019, but I would not be surprised if it never comes back. It's been cancelled four of the last six years. Twice they have cancelled the Thunderbirds. This show does have a large crowd, it's just difficult finding a way to recoup the money that the show spends.
