2018 NAS Oceana Sept 22 & 23

Has anyone heard if they are planning to have their usual Saturday evening Beach Blast this year,
cause I haven't seen any info mentioned about it anywhere yet ??

There is a NOTAM created for it.

Location : VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia near NORFOLK VORTAC (ORF)
Beginning Date and Time : September 22, 2018 at 2315 UTC
Ending Date and Time : September 23, 2018 at 0030 UTC
Reason for NOTAM : NAS Oceana Air Show aerial demonstrations
Type : Airshow

I just assumed with the lack of information related to the show that it was happening and they just haven't communicated it via their website or Facebook page. I mean we are 4 days before the show and there is no schedule, no static list, no confirmation if the Legacy Hornet is doing a final demo, some of the performers are listed twice on the website, are not listed at all, or are inaccurate, etc... Regardless, the lineup is looking great and I am really looking forward to the show.

Thanks for the info. I just got an email confirmation about the Saturday Night Beach Blast from the Show site also:

Yes, Saturday, 22 September at 31st Street Park on the Oceanfront. Navy band starts at 6:30,
afterburner flyovers at 7:15, Jumpers at 7:25 and the Blue Angels on stage at 8:30pm!

Sometimes shows dont put out a static list for whatever reason. Like you said the performers line up looks great and I am sure they will have some good stuff.

I could care less about statics. I only spend a short time on Friday taking photos of them anyway. Im gonna bet that there will be a few hornets tho.

Nice photos, you certainly have me excited. This will be my first show so I am wondering if they display the CAGs or just whatever’s available? Also how is the lighting for the show?
