Schedules are out and some people probably know their plans for 2019, so let us know how many airshows you plan to attend! Fly-ins, open houses, airshows all count!

Bonus question - what's the furthest from home you are planning to go for an airshow?

4 at the moment:

Space Coast Warbird Airshow - Titusville, FL
Melbourne Air & Space Show - Melbourne, FL
Sun-N-Fun - Lakeland, FL
Stuart Airshow - Stuart, FL

All are within about 2 hours, with Lakeland being the furthest. I'd like to travel to other shows, but just don't have the time to do so.

Currently will be attending several shows:

- Cheraw Regional Airshow - Cheraw, SC
- Wings Over Wayne - Seymour-Johnson AFB, NC
- MCAS Beaufort Airshow - Beaufort, SC
- Cape Girardeau Airfest - Cape Girardeau, MO
- Fort Wayne Airshow - Fort Wayne, IN
- Wings Over North Georgia - Rome, GA
- Spirit of St. Louis Airshow - Chesterfield, MO
- Thunder Over Georgia - Warner Robins AFB, GA
- Thunder Over South Georgia - Moody AFB, GA

Might add a few more if I get the time and money.

Probably the furthest show from my home in Gaffney, SC is the the St. Louis Airshow in September which is a little over 700 miles or 12 Hours.

Here is my list of airshows for 2019. Chilliwack is a small one, but it is always fun. Having the Granley's there every year is a bonus, Since Abby never gets them anymore. Boundary Bay is very interesting with 3 world class acts via CF-18, The Snowbirds, and Rob Holland. Oregon is such an amazing show to go t. I was there last year, and it was my first time, and boy was I impressed, and that was easily the best time I have ever had at an airshow. This year, their lineup is already stacked, and I like how close the taxiway is to you, and the lighting is perfect.

Abbotsford International Airshow
Boundary Bay Airshow
Chilliwack Airshow
Hillsboro Oregon
Aviation Nation

My list so far:

Melbourne, FL - March 30 (the furthest, 9.5 hour drive)
Cheraw, SC - April 13
Seymour Johnson, NC - April 27
Beaufort, SC - April 28
JB Andrews, MD - May 11

This will cover all the major military demos, minus the F-16. I have a few others as backup if plans don’t work out, particularly Oceana, VA; Robbins, GA; and Moody, GA. As rare as seeing the Thunderbirds at Oceana would be, I probably won’t go.

Should be another fun year. I'm definitely going to the following:

TBM Reunion
Janesville Warbird Weekend
Oshkosh - Three days (longest drive)
Thunder Over Michigan
Waukegan
Grissom
Air Zoo 40th Fly-In

Maybe:
Waukesha, WI Gathering of Warbirds
Chicago

If any other show within a reasonable drive gets the XP-82, I will probably find a way to go. If Chicago doesn't work out for some reason, I may reconsider the Waukegan/Grissom weekend and go to St. Louis instead. I'm not big on jet teams, but would still like to see the Reds if I'm able to.

Unfortunately there a three air shows in close proximity on the same weekend:
August 24th-25th
NY International Air Show, New Windsor NY (Blues)
Rochester International Air Show,Rochester NY (Thunderbirds)
The Great Pocono Raceway Airshow, Long Pond PA (A10 demo)
Can I make them all?

My schedule depends on which shows I have to do for work - and once those are decided I'll fit in some local UK shows in the gaps. Currently there are six shows I'm reasonably confident about going to: Abingdon (UK), Midlands Air Festival (UK), Portugal Air Summit, Weston Park Model Airshow (UK), Festival Aero Torre del Mar (Spain) and the Royal International Air Tattoo (UK). I'm expecting to add some more European shows (Poland, UK and others) to that list, plus maybe some in China and the Middle East too. If I have any spare weekends, I'd really like to get to one of the Shuttleworth shows - preferably the Military Airshow or one of the Evening Airshows. All in all I should be looking at in excess of 10 shows this year, maybe even 15+.
