Well my season isn't turning out anything like how I expected, but I'm pretty chuffed with the final list. 10 good sized events in 5 countries and a nice variation, from big international military shows to trade-themed expos and intimate warbird shows, and everything in between. Already planning on returning to Gdynia and possibly RIAT in 2020, as well as an all-new show in the Middle East!

May 5: Abingdon Air & Country Show, Dalton Barracks, UK
May 19: Midlands Air Festival, Arbury Hall, UK
May 31-Jun 2: Portugal Air Summit & Air Race 1, Ponte de Sor, Portugal
Jun 5: Daks Over Normandy cross-channel flight, UK
Jun 14-16: Weston Park International Model Airshow, Weston-under-Lizard, UK
Jul 7: Shuttleworth Military Airshow, Old Warden, UK (x7 Hawker Hurricanes!)
Jul 21: Royal International Air Tattoo, RAF Fairford, UK (Red Arrows, Frecce Tricolori, UkrAF Su-27, RoAF MiG-21, Spanish Harrier, FiAF F-18 & more)
Aug 16-18: Gdynia Aerobaltic Airshow, Gdynia-Kosokowo, Poland (Saudi Hawks, Team Orlik, UkrAF Su-27, SWAFHF SK-37, PoAF Su-22)
Sep 21-22: Festa al Cel, Lleida, Spain (Patrulla Aspa, EdA A400M, EdA EF-18, EdA EF2000, EdA Tigre)
Sep 29-Oct 3: Sichuan Int'l Aerospace Exhibition, Chengdu, China (Baltic Bees)

How about an "after" post.......

My son and I did 4.5 shows this summer....mostly all local stuff.....

- Thunder Over Northern MI - Gaylord MI
- National Cherry Festival - Traverse City MI
- CAF Airpower Tour - Oakland County Airport MI
- Thunder Over MI - Ypsilanti MI
- Cleveland National Airshow - Cleveland OH

Hit up Cleveland this year which was the farthest we traveled....hoping we can maybe get out a little farther next year.

I've done four so far, and hopefully one more before the end of the year (easily the most I've done in a year before). The two most recent were the same weekend, and I'm glad I'm doing these while I'm young because driving from 5pm-12am on consecutive nights, both after all day airshows, is not something I'd do often. Definitely worth it though.

Thunder and Lightning over Arizona, Tucson, AZ
Planes of Fame, Chino, CA
Wings Out West, Prescott, AZ
The Great Pacific Airshow, Huntington Beach, CA
Aviation Nation, Las Vegas, NV

EDIT: Made it to all five! Definitely the busiest season I've ever had.

We've done...:

-April: MCAS Beaufort, SC (Blue Angels) -- very disappointing show. Unless they improve general public seating/viewing, we won't go back.

-September: Thunder Over Georgia 2019 @ Robins ARB, Warner Robins GA (Thunderbirds) -- Good show. EXCELLENT logistics for off-site parking & security screening.

-October: Culpeper Airfest, Culpeper VA -- A small show. We mainly went to see family but enjoyed the day. Nice demo by Art Nalls in his Harrier.

--11/2: Headed down to Valdosta GA this weekend for the Blue Angels, F-22, etc.

--11/7-10: Blue Angels' Homecoming. Wouldn't miss this show for the world!

So I ended up doing..

Cosford, UK
RIAT, UK
Faßberg, Germany
Šiauliai, Lithuania
Zeltweg, Austria
Tanagra, Greece

The shows I scrubbed were..

Mont-de-Marsan, France (Tiger Meet) - weather was dire
Orange, France - line-up was pretty dull. No flying Mirage 2000s!
Yeovilton, UK - ended up moving in to my first house this weekend, so a good reason that I didn't attend

The list remained rather fluid until the end of the year, but in the end a mixture of visiting and volunteering at airshows brought together the list below. At times very busy (Dunsfold changing date for its last show was a little annoying but at least its one of my local ones) and the list could have been longer had the weather for Old Buckenham not been quite so terrible. 2020 already looks set to interesting with some new countries and as well as old favourites on the cards.
