Was at EAA this past year and the Raptors did not have an official demo team there, but the Air Force sent over a few. Did they ever impress! Multiple passes with 2 raptors high speed, touch & go, etc. So even though it states Heritage Flight only for 2019, don't discount some powerful performances! Also, the F-16 that had a Heritage Flight only role but ended up doing a 6 to 7 min abbreviated demo ending with HF.

Oh man, I would rather watch those two Raptors play than a demo any day! That was incredible.

On the other hand, the schedule and to some extent airbossing always seems to completely wreck what are supposed to be awesome flybys. Some of the pilots last year explicitly said they brought gas to play and were told to put it down full stop and park. The F-35s basically bullied their way into doing a single low approach each - even the pilot said he had to force it. Don't advertise an appearance by the jets and not let them fly! I love Oshkosh but it gets more frustrating every year.

I'm not sure "Heritage Flight Only" applies to Oshkosh, because they always work in a mini-demo. Compare that with true HF Only shows, which are usually remote, where their first pass is usually in formation already. It will be interesting to see if both the F-22 and F-16 put on a mini-demo or if they alternate or what.

At least we don't have to deal with a jet box this year!

Yeah, those F-22s were just amazing and made the show that Saturday! But after their show of power, they still had to burn fuel so they ascended up about 10k feet and just circled until they burned enough to come and land. They were up there a good bit - wish they could have burned it with more lower altitude passes!

You are right about the HF @ EAA usually morphing into extra passes or mini demos. 2019's theme will commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day.

I've seen a lot of Viper demos flown by several different pilots, but what Rain did with the F-16 in that modified sound of freedom profile at OSH last summer was seriously and earthshakingly impressive. I almost felt sorry for the jets he was smashing around the field!

The F-22 team removed the Heritage Flight Only tag from Oshkosh, and posted this response in the comments:
ACC F-22 Raptor Demo Team: [Name] given the limited box space available, Oshkosh will be a modified demonstration. In other words, it will be more than just a heritage flight, but less than a full demo.
I'll take that!
