Lake Isabella/Sidewinder

Post by Htx2018 » Sat Mar 12, 2022 6:43 am

Hello everyone,

I've recently been exploring the Sidewinder route more and more but its secrets still remain hidden. I've commented in a forum regarding the Jedi Transition but didn't receive much information. Anyways, let me get to the point. Does anyone know where aircraft fly through near Lake Isabella? I know Edwards has an online pdf containing very broad information and graphs about the Sidewinder and Lake Isabella, but I don't know where exactly. Is it just a matter of guessing and checking? Thanks!

If you read the Edwards documentation, it gives the specific visual waypoints (ex: "washed out bridge") for the route along with GPS coordinates for them. Of course the aircraft can be like a mile either side of these. There is also one video online showing the entire route (using the SWC shortcut) from the cockpit so you can combine that with Google maps to get a good feel for it.
