Micho “Mitch” Velickovich & Miguel Duarte Passes Away

Post by Adambadger88 » Tue Nov 08, 2022 10:04 pm

On August 24, 2022, at 1639 eastern daylight time, an experimental amateur-built MXR Technologies MX2, N263MX, was substantially damaged when it impacted terrain in Osteen, Florida. Miroslav D. Velickovich, 61, a resident from Tybee Island, and passenger Miguel Duarte, 34, of the Peruvian Air Force were killed.

From the EAA IAC's IN the Loop November 2022 Newsletter:
We were sad to hear of the passing of Micho “Mitch” Velickovich, IAC 434039, of Tybee Island, Georgia. He was a regular around the IAC Aerobatic Center at AirVenture every year representing MX Aircraft and helping to showcase their aircraft such as the MXS-RH flown by Rob Holland and the MXS-R flown by Brad Wursten

Mitch was an aerospace professional and had worked with the Aviation Marketing Group, Inc. in aircraft sales since 1994. His biography states he came from an aviation family as his father was a tail gunner for the RAF before immigrating to Peru. His personal credentials include an FAA pilot certificate as well as several FAA class aviation technician licenses. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends. This man with such a big heart and passion for aviation, who described himself as husband, father, ultimate aircraft salesman, aerobatic pilot, and motorcycle nutcase will be missed by many.
