I think it’s pretty clear who the victim was. Dan Buchanan was a featured performer, and who else flies a hang glider at air shows?

RIP in advance.

Local news has confirmed it was Dan Buchanan. I agree, it was pretty obvious.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

That smile was always present when anyone approached him, young or old. It really does bring tears to my eyes knowing how much he loved the people. Such a genuine guy to talk to. He was dedicated to what he did. Being trained professionally in the art of pyrotechnics, alone, he spent over 12 hours sometimes before a night performance meticulously wiring and sequencing all the fireworks to the fabric of his glider.

For all the tears I have shed for you Dan, I hope you know how much you have impacted me. When it comes to overcoming the odds, you are a symbol of strength and hope. You are a hero and I wish I could have one more opportunity to speak with you in person. It almost seems like it was a habit of seeing you around in Abbotsford the last few years and it will be very bittersweet this year knowing you would have been there. Your story is an inspiration to all, blue skies my friend.
