Not sure how much info is out there, but there was a fatal crash during the night airshow in Culpeper, VA tonight. More info will be released once I am able to do so. Please do not post the name until it is made public; I've heard the family does not know yet.

I've been told that the show will announce a go/no-go decision in the morning.

Very sad night. This hits closer to home for me than many others.

This is always a hard part in situations like this. Typically we do not release the name until it has been distributed by the police/airshow/local media. However, many dozens of performers have posted it around their public pages and I've been told that the family has been notified. I will confirm that it was Jon Thocker who was killed in the crash last night.

He was a very good guy; someone happy to chat with me in the hotel or briefing. Redline really grew over the last few years, and just two weeks ago I was watching them perform in Oregon.

Ouch. I met them a couple of times in 2017, they were one of the few performers to actually get in the photo pit with people after the performance.

I've read that the show will go on as scheduled this weekend. I think it's better to perform in honor of the fallen pilot than to cancel the whole weekend.
