Hi,

Are there any good opportunities to see arrivals or practice on Friday afternoon?
What is the best time to arrive?
How is the lighting ?
I have a 70-300mm zoom and 300mm+1.4TC fixed on FX.

Many thanks for any tips or advice.

Your best bet for Friday is to sit in the fairgrounds parking lot just north of the airport. It's a little far from show center, but the aircraft will come right over you on some run ins and also when landing (assuming the wind is right). I don't remember what time it started but err on the side of early so you can catch regular traffic also. I think we were out there by 9am last year but practice may not have started until 11 or 12. Lighting for arrivals varies depending on where you sit in the parking lot, you can shift east or west as desired. It was not super packed when we were there.

Lighting for the show is kind of rough as you face west. You can get some good sunset shots Friday night but otherwise it's less than ideal. The distance is also a bit of an issue, especially with that set up but I've also seen worse.

Here's a video which hopefully gives some idea of the view

I would consider it a given, they put up 4 last year even though only 2 actually really performed. I would be very surprised if they stayed on the ground this year.
