Aqaba Airshow, Jordan - 20th-21st March

Post by Flightline Uk » Thu Nov 21, 2019 12:50 pm

20th-21st March 2020
Aqaba Seafront, Jordan

Seems like a few more details have been published on this new event for 2020
On 20 and 21 March 2020, in this beautiful city, an international air show will take place, during which we will see pilots from around the world.

The shows will take place over the bay. Pilots will show their skills during the day and at night.

Over Aqaba, of course, we will see the Royal Jordanian Falcons, who have their base there. Jordanian military aviation will also be presented.
Marek Choim will come from Poland. He is the only one in the world to perform shows with the Extra plane with attached pyrotechnics.

The Flying Dragons Team show promises to be extremely attractive. They are six PPG pilots who use pyrotechnics to the rhythm of the music.
Parachutists from the Sky Magic S3WAT group will land on the beach in Aqaba, which we will see earlier in the sky with huge flags attached to their legs.

Night shows are amazing magic that will be presented by a group from the UK – Aerosparx. It will be painting with light in the sky.

Swede – Johan Gustafson will give a solo show, and the Italian formation Pioneer Team will present in the formation of three aircraft.
The producer of Aqaba Air Show 2020 is Aeropact from Poland. This is one of the few companies in Europe and in the world specialized in organizing air shows at the highest level. During many years of activity, over one million spectators participated in shows organized by Aeropact, who admired a total of over 700 aircraft.

Aeropact team cares for the smallest details, that’s why always the air show produced by the company is a show at the highest level, where the safety of viewers and pilots is always the most important thing.
The air displays will feature day and night elements consisting of:

Jordan
Royal Jordanian Falcons - Extra 330LX x 4 (DAY)
Royal Aero Sports Club of Jordan - Civil Aircraft x 2 (DAY)

The Saudi Hawks aren't confirmed yet. The organisers (Aeropact) and the Saudi Hawks have a very close relationship - hence the Hawks visited Aeropact's "home show" in Gdynia last year and Aeropact are organising events in Saudi Arabia, including one this week which the Hawks are also attending. However, while the plan is for the Saudi Hawks to be at the Aqaba Airshow, the airspace at the show site is quite tight and the Hawks need an awful lot of it. There will have to be some international negotiations before the Saudi Hawks will actually be able to perform there, so it's not set in stone yet. Hopefully this doesn't constrain what looks to be a very promising new airshow, but I look forward to attending nonetheless.

According to German airshow announcer Uwe Ramerth, Aqaba has fallen victim to the COVID-19 and Jordan's tough stance on incoming flights from infected regions:
