2020 USMC AV-8B Harrier Demonstration Schedule

Post by Dan Gagnon » Tue Dec 10, 2019 7:37 pm

Here's the 2020 Harrier schedule!

https://airshowstuff.com/v4/2019/2020-u ... -released/

2020 Appearance Schedule – USMC AV-8B Harrier Demonstrations

May 16-17: Atlanta Air Show, Peachtree City, GA

June 6-7: Selfridge Open House & Air Show, Selfridge ANGB, MI

It should also be noted that airshows at Marine Corps Air Stations typically host a Harrier demonstration but they are not shown on the Harrier demonstration schedule released by the Marine Corps. The 2020 MCAS shows are:

MCAS Yuma, AZ (March 13th-14th)
MCAS Cherry Point, NC (May 2nd-3rd)
MCAS MIramar, CA (September 26th-27th)

What does "alternate location" mean?

An “alternate location” is a show site that is a backup to a confirmed show site. If one of the main confirmed shows (in the case of this year, there’s just one) gets a cancelled, then one of the alternates will be chosen to host a demo.

According to the Marines at ICAS, they had less than 20 shows request demonstrations in 2020. That's crazy! I guess they rarely get to perform any ways so many shows figure why bother?

They will undoubtedly perform at MCAS Cherry Point since it’s the East coast Homebase.

Yeah, they almost always perform at Marine Corps base shows but never have them on the schedule. If someone can make a list of those I'll add that to the top post just to reduce confusion

MCAS Yuma, AZ (March 13th and 14th) and MCAS Cherry Point, NC (May 2nd and 3rd). Just a side not, I'd like to add MCAS Miramar, CA (September 26th and 27th), however last year featured the F-35B Demo and had the F-35B participate in the MAGTF demo instead of the Harrier so I'm not sure if this year Miramar will have Harrier participation or not.

Yeah Yuma has already said they'll have Harriers in both the MAGTF and a solo.
