The interesting part is that is seems that the F-16 Viper Demo Team will be there instead of the F-35A Lightning II Demo Team.

Smyrna crossed off for the F-35A Demo Team. Don't know if this means that the show itself is cancelled or just the appearance by the F-35A Demo Team.

Format change
This year's show will feature a newly designed guest experience that is the first of its kind β€” a boutique event produced to ensure a high-quality guest experience and social distancing.

Addressing COVID-19 guest safety concerns, the 2021 air show will be a reduced-capacity event.

β€œTo ensure that we produce a quality, socially distant show, we limited the capacity to half of what it would normally be. With the great lineup and a smaller-scaled audience, we're working to make the show feel like a very special event," said Jim Breen, president of The Air Show Network which produces the event in partnership with Smyrna Airport.

All tickets must be purchased in advance, and no individual or general admission tickets will be sold this year, Breen said. Ticket holders will have their own seats.

"At the heart of it, we want to create a safe space for air show fans while giving them the best guest experience,” Breen said.

The Flight Line Club will feature dedicated tables of four. Premium boxes and additional air show seating will be sold in sets of two and four. Locations can be chosen upon purchase online, based on availability.

Each seat grouping will be socially distanced in accordance with CDC protocol.

Merchandise and food and beverage transactions will be cashless.

Table and seating tickets go on sale Monday, March 15, at greattennesseeairshow.com.

Seating tickets are available starting today!

That said, they are pricey. Has anybody been to this show in the past? The airport itself doesn't look very big. I'm wondering how much upfront viewing space there is outside of the premium areas or if I should just bite the bullet and buy a ticket.

Edit: nevermind just read the format change. Guess I have to buy a ticket.

Actually, you have to buy two tickets, no singles offered. There is a large amount of ramp space. The show is held on the east side of the field opposite the FBO that used to be Sewart AFB. They park cars and have the show on the ramp.

Greg Colyer announced on his Facebook page that he won't be participating at the Great Tennessee Airshow as well as the Great Florida Airshow in Melbourne, Florida.
I am sad to announce I have had to CX the Melbourne FL show and the Great Tennessee Airshow. I had 7 Shows on the eastern side of the country and 5 of them have canceled so It does not make financial sense to make the trip all the way out for 2 shows. I could not come close to breaking even after Insurance and fuel out and back. I am hoping that Pease will still happen in Sept along with a stint at Pax River. For now I am off to teach at Edwards TPS for May and first show will be Tacoma WA on 4th of July followed by Eielson AFB Fairbanks AK
