You can now add the USAF Thunderbirds to the lineup.

Well pretty happy I decided to hit this one up this summer. Anybody else going?

Going on Saturday. Sure would be nice if they'd post a better schedule than "All we know is the Blue Angels will be last."

It would be nice if they would post a ground map, because if you look at the airport on google maps, there isn’t a whole lot of ramp space for the show.

Going Sunday. Already had planned on it, but Harrier and Thunderbirds added sure makes it worth the 4 hour trip. Would agree about maps of the actual layout of the field being helpful...

It was a long show, entertaining, and a mixed bag as far as experience goes. I went for Saturday only. My best results are here: https://imgur.com/a/c5nrsEq
- It's the first show I can remember that allowed spectators to clog the static display area with seating, even going so far as to set up under the planes on display. No sympathy for those who complained about us blocking their view as we were inspecting the displays.
- The heat was so considerable that the Harrier did an abbreviated display. Two-three passes, a hover, and vertical landing.
- The largest statics (C-5M, C-17, C-130) were not there. The C-17 staged out of Kansas City Downtown Airport, and there was a C-130 parked out there with it that did not appear on Sunday. I wonder if they just had a much bigger turnout than expected and needed the space for all the spectators.
- With the vast majority of the parking off site, we had to wait in lines on the tarmac for the better part of 90 minutes waiting on shuttle buses. Several people passed out from the heat and volunteers had to come through the lines regularly to hand out bottled water.
- Seeing the Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels at the same show was a novel experience, and worth the trip. Both teams did their low show and had some new material. The Blues leaned in to making noise (the Rhinos are significantly louder than their old rides) and the Thunderbirds streamlined their show quite a bit. It was cool seeing the diamond do a couple of passes with speedbrakes out.
- Also unexpected was the Golden Knights and Leap Frogs at the same show, as I don't remember hearing at all that the Leap Frogs would be there. Bonus points for the Leap Frogs jumping out of Fat Albert.
- A full eight hour show with no breaks was a bear, but paced very well. I worried things would bog down but they mixed up the acts such that everything seemed different from what came before.

I went both days. Being that this was a new site for their show they did a pretty good job. Perfect, no, but at least I saw that they made some corrections from Saturday to Sunday as far as getting people in and out. The show itself was fantastic, and after going to Melbourne and seeing about a half dozen statics, this was better.(I will get my fill at Oshkosh anyways). I have to say seeing the Blues and the Tbirds on the 4th of July put this one right up there on the list of some of the best. Saturday you could even tell the Blues were showing off a bit as the did the final manuever, the delta break to land practically right over the crowd. It will be at New Century again next year, and since the learned lessons from one day to another this year, I bet next will be much better. It is also in September.
