The RAF will provide a flypast by a P-8 Poseidon. I believe it will be the type's first appearance at a public airshow in RAF service.

Edited to add: at the same time the airshow tweeted that they would be "having" an RAF A400M Atlas. I missed this announcement at the time I posted. I would assume they mean the aircraft will be doing a flypast but the wording isn't clear and I guess it could also reasonably mean that it will be attending the static display only.

A challenging show for the organisers, I'm sure, hit hard by last-minute cancellations and weather delays, but also with some very memorable moments.

Sadly I think the talking points will be the aircraft that we didn't see. The Swedish Air Force Historic Flight were due to fly at the tail end of the showers that passed through and all three were scrubbed. The Breguet Alize and CA-13 Boomerang were cancelled in the days prior. The RAF A400M and USN P-8 were called off on operational duties. The USAF CV-22 diverted en-route to the show due to a technical fault. The BBMF's Lancaster/Spitfire/Spitfire 3-ship was changed for a Dakota solo. Both of the last-minute replacement acts brought in to replace those which cancelled were themselves cancelled.

But onto what did fly, and there was plenty. The show was opened by an RAF Poseidon MRA.1 - the type's airshow debut in RAF ownership. Some fantastic displays from the continent followed: an energetic Yak-3 solo, an utterly brilliant (and fully aerobatic) OV-10 Bronco display, and a thoroughly unique pairs display by a Broussard and electric Cri Cri, the latter being launched mid-flight from the top of the Broussard. B-17G "Sally B" put in a stirling show as the rain set in, and when the weather cleared it was mostly down to the RAF to close out the day. Sadly the Chinook and Typhoon were very distant, I imagine due to the shape of the bay, but the Red Arrows had great presence and looked fantastic in moody skies over Elizabeth Castle.

I have shamelessly pinched some recordings from PlanesTV's livestream, for which I manned one of the cameras. You can find the full stream in an earlier post.
