Yeah, unfortunately the disturbance overachieved and was more robust than predicted.

Yeah, was a difficult decision to make. But it just continues to rain and it looks like heavier stuff is on the way. Couple that in with the low ceilings that will stick around...it just wasn't in the cards this year.

But boy what a turn out we had last night for the Friday Night Spectacular!

Glad you were able to see the Fri night show at least. Aeroshell (saw FB vid) looked cool with the flames beneath them. Did the F-5 flyby?

We had such a big turnout yesterday that we were honestly surprised. Maybe the weather forecast for today is what caused such the big crowd, but we were getting really concerned about parking people in our lots (and, honestly, the muddy fields is part of what spurred the decision to cancel today). Overall though, everyone understood why we had to. Many people still came out to see some of the aircraft depart. Overall, not bad for what we had.

We will be discussing some changes for 2022, especially if our Friday night remains that popular. I just hope we can get a break with the weather for once!

This show has the absolute worst luck with weather.

I got up early, decided I was stubborn and dumb enough to make the drive despite the forecast and went anyway. I didn't know about the cancellation because I left at 7 a.m. That was kind of a surprise, but I got directed to park in the remote lot they were shuttling from and made it in. Based on the weather I honestly only thought I'd be there an hour or two, but there turned out to be significantly more action than I thought there would be and I ended up staying until a little after 3 p.m. The last thing I saw was the departure of the Tri-State B-25 and TBM. While I was there today, 7 TBMs made it up at various points plus the B-25, F4U-4, C-47, C-45 and multiple T-6s. That was way more action than I expected to see and I'm glad the pilots were willing to go up for the few people who were there.

I might have to revise my plans for next year to make the Friday night show too. This is one of my favorite events. I just wish they'd run into some good luck with weather!

The F-5 did do a couple of flybys on Friday but they were really high. So glad we decided to get out there around midday Friday.

Last night at the TBM Avenger Reunion, the ground shook as the TBMs roared to life simultaneously and ran their engines at 30-20 to give the crowd a light show of exhaust flames. The crowd erupted in cheer as the TBMs shut down. 🎥 by our own Greg Morehead.

Video of the Friday Night Spectacular including some of the aircraft and a look at some of the ramp. The highlights, of course, are AeroShell and then the Night Engine Run-Ups of the TBMs (which is going to become an annual staple of the event during the Friday Night portion). So, if you want to experience it, make sure you come out on Friday night next year.

And some TBMs.
