In case you guys are wondering where I saw that MCAS Cherry Point is apparently putting together an airshow for this year: https://fighterjets.com/air-shows/

This is an interesting one to keep an eye on. Marine shows are cool because their assets are rarely seen elsewhere. The Blues are open that weekend also...

On the other hand, it may just be a miscommunication! Hopefully we get more info soon.

Holy crap this is awesome! If they are able to secure some of the performers they were supposed to have last year, that would be cool to. It is pretty short notice, so I'll take what I can get.

This is the same weekend that Miramar was supposed to happen, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the Blues got added. The Raptor Demo Team was also supposed to perform at Miramar, so maybe they could get added as well...makes sense since they are at Oceana the preceding weekend. Speaking of, the F-35C will be at Oceana. Idk if it makes sense logistically, but if they could stay on the east for this show and not have to travel cross-country just for one show...wishful thinking I guess. I’m still just amazed that this show is even happening potentially.

Unfortunately, the Raptor Demo Team are scheduled to perform at Queretaro, Mexico this year (Sept. 22-25), unless (if happens so) they decide to withdraw from the show, I doubtingly think Cherry Point Base can sercue them, however, there is the bright side to this where Wendover, UT recently cancelled their event and supposedly they were to feature the Viper Demo Team, and again that could open up a possibility of getting the Viper Demo Team instead.

So far, in addition to the premier demonstration team, air show planners have tentatively scheduled acts such as Aftershock Jet Truck, All-veteran jump team, Randy Ball, RJ Gritter, Tom Larkin, Stephen Covington and Hubie Tolson. Planners have also confirmed demonstrations of the Marine Air Ground Task Force, AV-8B, F-35, F-18, and the Wall of Fire, as well as the 2nd MAW Band performing.

Looks like an awesome show! Is the F-35B stationed at MCAS? That variant is capable of VTOL so I wonder if the demo team will do a hover routine like the Harrier...
