TOM 2022 is on the Blue Angels' preliminary schedule for 2022.

TOM is doing the same two daily shows drive-in format as the 2021 show for this show. The morning show will feature a special "Warbird Salute" and the afternoon show will feature the Blue Angels. If you got a complimentary car pass for the 2021 show then you will get one for the 2022 show as well.

I really hope this isn't a permanent change. Thankfully, we have a complimentary pass for 2022. I don't anticipate that I will ever pay for a drive-in show.

I agree. The 7am gates open is simply not going to happen again for many of my friends/family, which renders the drive-in pricing prohibitive for those that will (begrudgingly) get up, which means my airshow loving family will probably cash in their free ticket to the afternoon show and that's it. They travel the country seeing airshows with me but will be mostly shut out of our local show.

While I had a very good weekend overall in 2021, the time I spent doing the drive-in thing with my family was not very enjoyable. I am extremely disappointed YAM is going this route again.

I was feeling conflicted because I have always wanted to do RIAT which is the same weekend as TOM in 2022; maybe I should just forget TOM and go for RIAT.

I'll try to keep my rant short and sweet.

Half a show: $225
Full Show: $395

I have two options: Attend this show and become homeless, or go to Tyler Road and hope I don't get kicked out.

The start time was brutal, but I did like the morning lighting and as someone who doesn’t have much air show photography under their belt I liked having four chances to practice/get some good shots of most of the acts.

Especially without any TOM experience aside from 2021 to compare it to, I’m looking forward to the format again :D .

I just finished sending TOM an e-mail expressing my displeasure in this decision. The drive-in format STINKS all around. They've found that they can make significantly more off people who are willing to pay for the "convenience" of a drive-in, but that's not your core airshow fan group. Let alone that I attend several shows by myself, travelling from out-of-state, the pay "by the carload" for half a day of flying is absurd! I'm sure the "overwhelmingly positive feedback from our 2021 event" they're referring to is more about them pulling off ANY show during a pandemic and not people overjoyed at paying through the nose for a few hours of flying.
