Power in the Pines Open House & Air Show 2022 [CANCELLED]
There is no way they cancelled it again. They did a Atlantic City Airshow last year which is not to far from here plus they didn't announced on social media

It could very well be possible the reason for the cancellation could be because of the thousands of Afghan refugees living on the base.

At the beginning of last week, they had a big graphic about the show dates of May 7-8 here:

The graphic has been removed from the web page.

I am very disappointed that this was cancelled. It was one of the closer shows that are easier to attend. I am curious as to why the event was pulled.

We are due for a massive surge of COVID cases as Omicron takes hold. While there won't be as many restrictions for civilian shows as in the past, the military needs to protect their people first. Sadly I would be shocked if any military base shows happen before mid-year or even later.

I hate to be a pessimist, but with Covid-19 still out and about I have a hard time believing most military bases are going to allow the general public onto military facilities next year. I was looking incredibly forward to this show, but was unfortunately not surprised that they pulled the plug. My recommendation for other airshow fans in the Mid-Atlantic area is to make sure you block off late August for both Atlantic City and Scranton, both are shaping up to be awesome shows!

Disappointed in this. I thought we would be able to get past this Covid ruining everything but I also understand . Things were looking so positive out of ICAS I just hope we don’t have another repeat of 2020. Cant wait to see what kind of lineup Scrantons show has. Hopefully they match the show they had lined up for 2020. Anxiously awaiting for performers to start being announced . Their shows in the 90s were some of the best in the East . It would be nice to return back to that. Looks like Padre island is the same weekend and has some good civilian acts booked already.

It needs to be reiterated and emphasized that McGuire is currently home to thousands of Afghan refugees, something like 12,000 of them are currently temporarily living at the base (please google this if you don't believe me). There's a lot of resources that have been going above and beyond to help these refugees adjust to some sort of new life in America. They'll be there for a while, likely well beyond any kind of arbitrary goal of getting them relocated before spring.

If you go into the website of the show it said "The 2022 Power in the Pines Open House and Airshow has been postponed until 2023. Dates and times will be announced on this page when more information is available." on the Media Information in the button

2023 show would be great. I don't want to wait 2 years for a show
