Not a horrible idea really. A lot of aircraft types are going to be retired for good in the next 10 years or so. Make an effort to see them while you can!
Good point Ryan. A good example for me making an effort to see certain aircraft types that are going to be retired for good would be this past May when I went to Dover AFB primarily to see the AV-8B Harrier II demonstration. In fact, I'm currently looking into maybe going to MCAS Beaufort next year for their airshow as the F/A-18 Hornets too are in their twilight years.

The NAS Jacksonville Air Show offers four seating options for the general public:
• Free Seating: Bring your own chair or blanket and set up along the flight line.
• Handicap Viewing Area: There is a section cordoned off for handicap, first come, first serve. Look for the handicap signage. A companion may set up with the wheelchair member, but we ask that large family groups not take up space that others with handicap needs would like to use.
• Paid Seating: Available on each day of the air show for $10. These passes cannot be purchased ahead of time. These sections are located just off of show center, include private port-o-lets and are first come, first served each day of the show.
• Beer Garden: Premium seating area where you can enjoy the show and your favorite beers. This adults-only section provides an excellent view of the show along with a festive and fun atmosphere. Visit nasjaxairshow.com/seating to purchase!

Can't wait. Haven't been to an airshow in 5 months or so. As typical for airshows that I've been going to, I could use a few more warbirds. However, the rest of the lineup looks great, and it'll be my first time this year seeing the F-35. The setup at NAS JAX is one of my favorites.

It'll probably be a USMC squadron based out of MCAS Beaufort as the US Navy had completely phased out their remaining F/A-18 Hornets this past summer.

Not entirely true. VFA-204s sunset is later this month. NAS Fallon still has F/A-18Cs. One showed up as static at the Reno Air Races still painted in VFC-12 Splinter colors.

Can't wait for Saturday. It's been too long since I've been to airshow. Anyone else going on Saturday?
