Hey all, so was over at comox for some spring training this past weekend, the snowbirds are quite far behind for training this year, only saw a 8 plane demo, they did a 3 ship line abreast normally 5 ship, and no solos when i was there, there are new formations and things are looking good, but glad they still have time tighten it up.

As always it was great to see them again, and the show will be tight as you will see in a few pics, sorry haven't scaled my photos down to under 10mb, will do so later and add some more

Cheers

Snowbirds have been grounded.
An operational pause has been ordered for the entire fleet of Snowbirds aircraft after one of the planes was damaged during an incident in northern B.C. last week.

The Royal Canadian Air Force said in a statement Wednesday that a “deliberate, detailed and broad risk analysis” will be conducted on all 20 CT-114 Tutor aircraft flown by the Snowbirds. The aircraft will not be allowed to fly again until the review is completed.

“Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft cannot be flown unless they are determined to be airworthy and safe to fly,” said Maj.-Gen. Iain Huddleston, commander of the First Canadian Air Division, who ordered the operational pause.

“We will return the fleet to flying operations when it is safe to do so, in accordance with our rigorous airworthiness program.”

The remainder of their 2022 season is officially cancelled.
The Canadian Forces Snowbirds have announced that their 2022 air demonstration season is
officially canceled, and they will not be performing at the three air shows in California this
October. This includes the Pacific Airshow in Huntington Beach, the California International
Airshow in Salinas, and the Central Coast Air Fest in Santa Maria.

According to this report, the jet's engine failed due to an improperly assembled oil filter.
