I imagine they are probably in even higher demand for 2022 than usual given that it will be the 75th anniversary of the USAF.

I can definitely see March Field and Travis AFB counterarguing for receiving the Thunderbirds for their shows since they both occurred on the same weekend, however in March Fields statement of its cancellation of the 2020 show, it stated in a paragraph that the majority, if not all of the performers including the Thunderbirds are anticipated to return to the 2022 show, schedule to occur on the weekend of May 14th & 15th. Though, I would await and see what happen later in the following week, though I definitely have my fingers crossed that March Field will receive the demo team for her show in 2022. :)

Crazy how ICAS came and went but the Thunderbirds haven’t revealed their 2022 schedule yet.

There are probably far too many demands/requests for being apart of airshows in 2022, overall it is the U.S Air Force 75th Anniversary so there quite definitely anticipated to be at a variety of shows in 2022.

This happens from time to time. It's not common for it to be over a week late, but it does happen. There were still so many questions with how 2021 could possibly pan out that the emphasis was put on the 2021 schedule. The last time the Blue Angels did this, it literally ended up coming out later that day.

The applications are submitted two years before for this exact reason. This way they can sift through the requests and get a schedule built early enough to release at the convention. The pandemic, more than the 75th Anniversary of the Air Force, played a role in why the schedule is late to be released. The schedule was ready for the convention, just wasn't signed off on. Don't think it holds a super high priority presently either within the Pentagon due to 2021 being questionable as it is.

So they will announce the 2022 Show Season as early as January or possibly February?

ICAS sent out the 2022 Thunderbird schedule this afternoon. The original post has been edited with all dates listed. There are a few gaps, which could be either mid-season breaks (the Blue Angels are required to have one weekend off every 2 months, but the Thunderbirds are not) or shows that are not approved yet.
