Today is Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin's 92nd birthday.
Join us in wishing Apollo and Gemini Astronaut Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin a very happy 92nd birthday today!
You may have known that Aldrin was a US Air Force pilot, but did you know that he flew F-86s during the Korean War and shot down two MiGs during the conflict? Yet, in his early flight training days, he learned on a T-6 Texan just like ours!
Aldrin is a graduate of West Point (3rd in his class), has a doctorate from MIT, and even served as commandant of the Air Force's Test Pilot School. But of course, he is most famous for piloting the Apollo 11 lunar module... do you remember its name?
