On this date in 1922 Erich Alfred "Bubi" Hartmann was born in Weissach, Württemberg, Weimar Republic, Germany. “The Blond Knight of Germany” (to friends) and “The Black Devil” (to enemies) is the highest scoring fighter ace in the history of aerial combat with 352 aerial victories.
