PLAAF H-6K Bombers Intercepted by RoCAF F-16s

Post by n33d4sp33d_85 » Sat Feb 15, 2020 7:06 pm

Chinese Xian H-6K strategic bombers near Taiwan/Republic of China (ROC)

On 9 and 10 February 2020, multiple intercepts were conducted by Republic of China Air Force (RoCAF, Taiwan Air Force) F-16 Fighting Falcons.

On both days, Chinese Xian H-6K strategic bombers from the 10th Bomber Division/28th Air Regiment, based at Anqing Airfield (China), were intercepted by RoCAF F-16As.

Photos have been circulating of H-6Ks 20015 and 20018 accompanied by a 5th TFW (401st TFW) F-16A.

The approaches of the Chinese strategic bombers near Taiwan are still within the norm. In recent years, Chinese H-6Ks, also from Anqing Airfield, situated roughly some 700 kilometres from Taiwan's capital Taipei, have been frequently reported in the vicinity of Taiwan.
