Qatar Emiri Air Force Receives Fifth Batch Of Rafales

Fifth batch of Qatar Emiri Air Force Rafales delivered

The fifth batch of, this time only three, Rafales left Bordeaux/Mérignac (France) on delivery to Qatar on 25 February 2020. The aircraft involved this time are Rafale DQ (dual seat) QA206 and Rafale EQ (single seat) QA215 and QA227.

The aircraft were accompanied by QEAF C-17A Globemaster III (A7-)MAO that arrived a few days before, on 22 February. As with the previous deliveries in June, July, September and December we assume the aircraft must have been accompanied by tanker aircraft for refuelling support. However, it is unknown to us if this support was, again, provided by Armée de l'Air (AdlA, French Air Force) tankers.

Weather during the time of departure was atrocious with loads of rain, low clouds and wind. Also the aircraft took off in the wrong direction for the spotters. No pictures have reached us unfortunately. QA227 below was captured on 10 February 2020.
