Uruguay's VIP BAe125-700A Up For Sale

The aircraft was acquired in 2013 for dual VIP and air ambulance roles. The 125, formerly CX-CIB (construction number 257071) received serial 500 and is referred to as a C-29. Serial 500 is based at Montevideo/Intl Carrasco 'Gral. Cesareo L. Berisso' and assigned to Escuadrón Aéreo N°3 Transporte (EA3T) as part of Brigada Aérea I.
The airframe has hardly been used whereas maintenance costs were mounting, even surmounting the original amount paid for it. Thus, the new Minister of Defence has put it up for sale. The air ambulance role can also be performed by the CASA C212s obtained from Portugal.
