Some amazing shots show B-52s, callsign "Hate", escorted by RAF Typhoons, callsign "Venom", over the UK. Flying as HATE 11-14, four U.S. Air Force B-52s arrived at RAF Fairford, UK, on Feb. 10, 2022. Although the timing of the deployment coincides with a military build-up in Europe and raising tensions with Russia, the USAFE-AFAFRICA pointed out how the strategic bombers arrived in the Old Continent as part of a "long-planned" Bomber Task Force (BTF) mission, a regularly scheduled U.S....

On Thursday we had the privilege to spend an evening with the Belgian X-Tiger.
X-Tiger is the nickname of the livery on the Belgian Air Components F-16AM Fighting Falcon from the 31st Tiger Squadron based out of Kleine-Brogel Air Base.
The freshly painted FA-136 β€œX-Tiger” took to the skies on Friday the 16th of July 2021. A design created by Johan Wolfs and executed by the KeeBee paintshop highlighted the 70th anniversary of the 31st Tiger Squadron and the 60th Anniversary of the NATO Tiger Association.

USAF's Wild Weasel Demonstration Team

Recently, Block 50 F-16C 90-0817/WW received some new tail colours. The Fighting Falcon is now part of the Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) F-16 Demonstration Team, part of the 35th Fighter Wing at Misawa Air Base (Japan).

Wild Weasel is a code name given by the USAF to an aircraft, of any type, equipped with anti-radiation missiles and tasked with the Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) / Destruction of Enemy Air Defenses (DEAD): disrupting/ misleading/ destroying the radar and Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) installations of enemy air defense systems.

The 35th FW includes the 35th Operations Group, where both the 13th (Panthers) and 14th Fighter Squadrons (Samurais) operate and make up the wing's flying force.

Today, the 35th FW's SEAD mission is primarily carried out by F-16CM Block 50 Fighting Falcons, typically equipped with a state of the art HARM Targeting System pod, two High speed Anti-Radiation Missiles and a self-protection jammer.

This year the Belgian Air Force 1st Squadron the "Stingers" celebrate its 105th anniversary! On this occasion, a single F-16 (FA-57) received a special tail art.
The 1st Squadron was created as the First Fighter Squadron during the First World War, the Squadron then evolved through the years to become a true multirole squadron. Nowadays the squadron is part of the 2nd Tactical Wing and operates the General Dynamics F-16 Block 20 MLU Fighting Falcons.
