It has been a while since we have reported about the three Lockheed P-38 Lightnings currently under restoration in Australia. Our good friend John Parker from Warbirds Online recently visited Historical Aircraft Restorations Ltd.’s workshop in Albion Park, New South Wales where the Lightnings are under rebuild, and has graciously allowed us to share some of his words and fascinating images from that trip. One of the Lightnings will fly again with HARS Aviation Museum - Albion Park while the other two will be returned to static condition.

It has been almost four years since our last update on restoration progress with the Commemorative Air Force Lake Superior Squadron’s Consolidated PBY-6A Bu.64097. A lot has happened since then and times got eventually very difficult for this CAF unit. However, with a lot of hard work coming from some extremely dedicated people, the CAF Lake Superior Squadron is happy to say that they are overcoming their adversities, and extremely excited about the new direction and future of the PBY Restoration project.

Here's a great update on the efforts of the Commemorative Air Force Lake Superior Squadron and their Catalinas from Warbird Digest. What's your favorite version of the classic Catalina?

It’s been over three years since the De Havilland DH110 Sea Vixen (XP924 / G-CVIX) suffered severe damage due to wheels up landing at the Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton after displaying at the Duxford Air Festival 2017. Today the Navy wings has sadly announced that despite conducting a fundraising appeal and an extensive search for either an individual or an enterprise they were unable to raise the estimated £2M to bring the “Foxy Lady” back to the sky and consequently the Board of Trustees has reluctantly made the decision to stop investing vital funds into preparing her for flight. Instead Navy Wings will now focus on the Sea Fury FB11 and aim to get her flying alongside the Sea Fury T20 making a magnificent Sea Fury Pair.
