NSF/ARCo's Sea Fury T.20 crashes at Duxford

Sadly we had an accident at Duxford today just after the Showcase Day flying air display ended. The Norwegian Spitfire Foundation's Sea Fury T.20 WG566 departed with two people on board for a routine flight and shortly after we noticed all arrivals and departures at the airfield had stopped. We later noticed the fire engines had left their stations, but didn't connect the dots. After a while, the fire engines returned and activity resumed, and we waited around for the Sea Fury to return as the light was lovely. It never did, so after an hour we eventually left the airfield, feeling puzzled. Only as we walked into the car park did we see photos online of the aircraft, broken possibly beyond repair, following a crash landing. A bitter end to an otherwise quite enjoyable day.
