Draken Contract with Nellis to Expire in June

Nellis AFB apparently will not renue their contract with Draken for adversary support. This means that Draken won't participate in Red Flags after June. Interesting decision.

I saw this and it is quite surprising. The Air Force reportedly can't fill their training needs even with Draken, so giving them the boot so soon is really puzzling. I get that they probably want higher end jets but that doesn't happen overnight and it REALLY doesn't happen if you cut Draken off from the existing contract money. I wonder if there is more at play here behind the scenes.

I barely got to see them last month and was really hoping for better next year. Oh well...
