Cleveland National Airshow 2017 - Sept 2-4
I had the awesome opportunity to fly with the US Army Golden Knights on their Saturday morning demonstration. The cloud deck allowed only 4100ft, but luckily it was enough for the jump! It was very interesting to see how quickly the team works together to change their plan based on the conditions. They changed their plan about four times between the ground and the actual jump.

It's pretty strange watching people willingly jump out! But, this was definitely the coolest thing I've ever experienced!

Cleveland is my favorite location for an airshow. The weather is generally cooler and the skies blue. It was the location of my first airshow in 2001. I was living in Toledo at the time and met my co-worker/friend Chris Post driving up from Heath. Well I have been hooked ever since. Soon after I met Ryan as he was learning how to video and I was wanting to buy a video of the Cleveland Airshow. Another friendship was born. And thanks to Ryan I was asked to ride with the Golden Knights this year and submit my experience on behalf of AirshowStuff.com. Look for it in another post as I learn the forums

Some pictures of my trip with the Golden Knights on Saturday morning, September 2, 2017. A great experience. The trip really makes you appreciate the Golden Knights. Sometimes we take the jumpers for granted. However these are real people who are serving our country. Perhaps the most telling was an incident on Sunday when the jumper performing the "failed chute" routine had his back-up chute actually fail. Out came a white chute from the jumper close to the ground which saved us all from witnessing something no one wants to see. The Golden Knights risk their lives as much as any pilot. I thank them for their service and their willingness to display the talents/skills to be a Golden Knight.
