VFC-12 Change of Command will include a flyby of a F-5N from VFC-111, an F-18 from VFA-204 and 2 VFC-12 jets. Diamond formation flyover with a nice steep pitch up upon crossing show center. Saw it today and it looks pretty cool.

Will those jets be taking off from Oceana for the flyby or are they flying out of another base?

I've been the past two years, but this year I decided to sit the show out since I have seen all of the performers recently. It looks like I'm gonna miss an amazing show this weekend. I hope to see lots of pictures and videos of the VFC-12 CoC flight.

I wanted to post this as a reminder that Oceana is planning to phase out its remaining Legacy Hornets starting this year, and as a result, this might be the last year we get to see Legacy Hornets at the Oceana Air Show.

Practice day today had the F and C hornet demo followed by the airpower demo then ahd the C&A by the blues. They took a break and went back up and did their demo after that. inbetween the blues we snuck down to the Fighter Factory and caught the B-25 and FG-1D takeoff.

I was there on Sunday only.

No F-35 on Sunday. Was it on static display on Saturday?

Air Power Demo canceled on Sunday due to low ceiling. All Sunday demos were low and flat due to low ceiling.

Blue Angels flew all 6 jets.

Change of Command ceremony nice. Something different.

Statics overall were great. About 12 Hornets from the different squadrons.

Squadron Mall excellent as usual. Must have spent $750 on squadron items. Like Rob Reider said, you can't buy this stuff anywhere.
