Nato Tiger Meet 2017

This past week I flew across the pond to take in a couple of events in Europe. On June 14th, I attended the 2nd spotters day for this year's Nato Tiger Meet held at BAN Landivisiau (French Naval Air Base).

There were French Rafales, Swiss F-18's, Belgian and Dutch F-16's, Italian Typhoons, Czech Gripens and an impressive assortment of helicopters. Exercise aircraft flew once in the morning and again in the afternoon. There were a number of good locations to set up to shoot either takeoffs and landings or taxi and statics. The sun was in a good location, behind us, for most of the day.

This is an annual event that has been going on since the 70's (I believe) and has been on my list for a long time. If you have not been to Europe for an airshow/open house/spotters day then I strongly encourage you to do so. They are quite different from events in North America, and in most ways, much better.
