2nd Annual Gathering of TBM Avengers

Well we waited out the morning with some static displays and free pie (!) in the Marquis hangar. Very cool. Finally around 4pm the clouds broke and they got all of the participants up. Brad flew a TBM veteran in his airplane and got a water canon salute when taxiing back.

In the evening the weather was actually pretty nice! Unfortunately they put most of the TBMs away before sunset so no fantastic pics from that.

Mostly it was a great day because it is a laid back event and they were flexible enough to get all of the flying in after the planned time.

Thanks Ryan. I'm about an hour and fifteen minutes away so I still might drive down to take a look today.

All TBMs are still there, plus the two jets and a few Texans. Most or all will be looking to leave tomorrow, and I think the rough plan is 10am ish. I am planning on getting to the airport at 9.

I decided to drive down on Saturday. The weather cleared up in the late afternoon and turned into a stunner. I actually took a ride in a T-6, let me tell you, one of the most unforgettable moments of my life.

The highlight of the show!

It was really cool to have TBM crew member Verg Bloomquist with us for the weekend. He rode in Brad's TBM during these flybys and got a surprise water cannon salute as he taxied back in.
