Unfortunately, the RAF Tucano has withdrawn. But OTTO the Helicopter is back for the Friday Night show.

The International Sanicole Airshow opened its weekend of events with their 8th Sunset Airshow. With an international line-up of military and civilian performers the event celebrated the 75th Anniversary of Belgian liberation with a unique finale. A full review and more images can be found HERE.

Beautiful! I loved my visit to Sanicole in 2016 but the twilight show would have been even better.

The Saturday of the Sanicole Airshow weekend (which is a rehearsal day at the show venue) saw Kleine Brogel Air Base open its doors for Spottersday. Though it isn't an airshow, some of the Belgian Air Force displays do perform for visitors alongside movements to and from Sanicole Aeroclub for the all important rehearsals. This year there were some extra visiting aircraft including a German Typhoon and Tornado on top of the airshow participants. All in all, a very relaxing day enjoying some aviation. More images and a review can be found HERE.

The main show day concluded the Sanicole weekend with 7 1/2 hours of flying under blue skies with almost every kind of aviation represented. There are too many highlights to mention but there were some memorable tributes to the 75th Anniversary of D-Day and Liberation. The show was also one of the final public displays of the Breitling Jet Team and to mark the end of the Franco-Swiss partnership a special series of flypasts were held at the end of the day. Lovely shots and great lighting, Sanicole's definitely one for the bucket list. Although it wasn't the final public display of BJT, that honour went to Cervolix one week later.
