"Birth of Super Hornet" VHS Tape

Post by jpujol » Thu May 14, 2020 4:14 pm

Anybody have a copy of the VHS tape titled "Birth of Hornet" or "Birth of Super Hornet". "F/A-18E" may also be in the title.

The show first aired on PBS in 1996. It is about the development of the Super Hornet F/A-18E.

I think the title is "Birth of Hornet" or "Birth of Super Hornet". It may have been produced by McDonnell Douglas, but not sure.

I think it was a 60 minute show.

You can send Private Message or reply to this post if you have a copy (or taped it from a broadcast). Maybe you can make a DVD of the show. I will gladly pay $50 or more for it.

I found a VHS copy on eBay.

I found some new info on the show.

The show was part of the "The New Explorers with Bill Kurtis" series on PBS WTTW Chicago.

The episode was titled "Birth of a Jet Fighter".

I found my old taped copy of the show (very bad quality).

I remember the episode had lots of McDonnell Douglas Super Hornet test footage leading up to the first flight.

Hope this VHS commercial copy is of better quality.
