Excellent show today. The drive-in concept worked really well. Even though she had to cut her demo short due to a tech issue, Beo flies the hell out of the F-35!
Great day, with a great line-up. Thanks to everyone from Airshow London for putting in all the heart and effort to give us something during a pandemic. Fantastic stuff!

Great show today!
The weather was beautiful and the flying was awesome! I was in the front row of the Red Zone, and that was money very, very well spent!
I want to congratulate ASL on a superb event.
However, the exit strategy for the red zone needed work. For some reason, the front row of the Red Zone had to sit for about 45 mins before we even got to move. A more balanced approach to letting people exit is needed if this is done again. Still a minor quibble.
Just one thing: I was there, and I would swear that the ACC heritage flight was only three birds: F-16, F-22 and A-10. Seeing pics of the F-35 in there is blowing my mind. Is this one of those Mandela affect things? I also recall clouds in the sky, not perfect blue. Have I gone nuts?
I'm not trying to pic a fight, but how did that other guy get pictures with four planes in it?
Regardless, I think the F-35 was a great demo, but the F-16 kicked everybody's butt, including the Raptor's! The Raptor did get a bit of payback at the end, though, with that eye-watering side-slide that only it can perform!
Sadly, we only got one Buff, not two, but hey, I'm not knockin' it!
Great work, and if they want to keep this format next year, I'm all in for it!

4-ship HF with the perfect blue sky was yesterday. It had the Grey F-16.
Today Venom flew (the Black F-16), but the F-35 broke during her demo and the HF was only a 3-ship.
Hopefully tomorrow we get the hat trick: Black F-16, Blue Sky, 4-ship.

Ah! That makes more sense!
I hope you're right about tomorrow. I fear the weather sounds unco-operative, mind you. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Do you know what happened to the F-35?

Really glad everyone had a great show day! Meanwhile, on the US side I played it pretty safe and watched from the Selfridge museum. Thankfully everything except the C-17 took off to the north and landed from the north, so we got to see it all. Unfortunately it was a bit far and quite backlit. I saw the cops chasing people off from the M-59 shoulder but we chanced it once the museum closed and the Thunderbirds weren't back yet. It was way more interesting! I decided that I'll go back tomorrow, park at BJ's, then walk down the shoulder to watch. Hopefully they'll be ok as long as I don't have a car.
Nice to meet @Ack, his son, plus a couple other guys who recognized my shirt. Maybe I'll meet some more tomorrow!

Random note from watching the activities on ADSB, the KC-10 after it's pass joined up with the inbound E-3 and refueled the E-3. The E-3 then held for quite a while before their show time. Was interesting to watch some of the movements behind the scenes. Fingers crossed for good weather for those going tomorrow. At least you're not choking on the forest fire smoke we have here out west!
Keep the pics and videos coming, this is the closest I'm getting to an airshow this year!

Ryan,
Glad you got to catch most of the performers today. Wish you could have made it up here, but at least you got something! That Venom shot is sweet!
Great photos as well, FlyRed!

As a displaced Abby Airshow veteran I finally had the opportunity to compare the two shows. Albeit this one being different for several reasons.Chris Smallenberg wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 3:20 amKeep the pics and videos coming, this is the closest I'm getting to an airshow this year!

London has a massive advantage in terms of Runway proximity, and especially lighting. Wow, the runway orientation in London is perfect for photos! I'm not a photographer but being spared 7 hours of staring into the sun was a welcome experience. Kinda like RIAT and Oshkosh in that way.
I give massive kudos to the show organizers for pulling this off. Traffic management was pretty good to and from the Red Zone, and barely spent half hour trying to leave which is quite reasonable. Any large aviation event at all this year was a welcome distraction.
Really unfortunate the F-22 had its show slot exactly when a cloud decided to hover over the showline, which prevented most "Raptor-ish" maneuvers like the power loop, tailslide, and pedal Turns. Still impressive though.
F-35 was definitely being flown by BEO like she stole it. Wow, it's not the prettiest jet but its acceleration is unreal. Too bad it went mechanical. Was looking forward to seeing the 4 ship heritage flight.
F-16, C-17, and A-10 were amazing as always. You can tell the ShiV is a third year demo pilot, he flies that thing lower than anyone I've ever seen.
The abbreviated Thunderbirds routine caught me off guard a bit, but I totally get why they did that.
Maybe I'm just jaded now and seen too many shows but I would have killed for a warbird or two. They had the Red Knight T-33 sitting outside as a tease, and the Waterloo warbirds are barely a 5 minute flight from Kitchener. Back to back to back modern military is cool but I enjoy variety. Isn't Pete MaCleod based in London?? I realize airworthiness certificates and costs can be prohibitive for getting warbirds at a show but it would have rounded it out a bit more I think.
Some might call the variety an advantage of Abbotsford, while many like the military-theme of London more. To each their own I guess. I know the 25 and under crowd likes jets and I don't blame them.
Aside from the announcer...Was a great day in the pandemic! I'll be back for sure.
