The USAF Heritage Flight has switched from an F-16 and a pair of F-5s to an F-16 and P-51.

Sam had asked earlier if anybody knew anything about getting in etc. - has anybody been to this one before? There is not a lot of info online from what I can find - it looks like they haven't done a show since maybe 2016? I did see one post where somebody said that the ingress/egress roads go through a residential area and to be considerate of the locals. The no camera bags policy is a new one, but it also says no chair bags as they do not have people to check them - so I would plan accordingly. Nothing beats lugging a 100-400 lens over your shoulder all day. I am hoping they update their website in the next couple of days - their performers list and map do not align with other published cancellations and changes. Fingers crossed the weather holds out - it looks like it will be 106 degrees there mid week but cooling a bit for the weekend with a climbing percentage of rain for Sunday.

Bummer that the F-5s didn't make it, but the Fagen Fighters F6F Hellcat was pretty cool to see flying. Had no idea they were attending.

Love that P-51 shot RIAT! How was the show? Wanted to make it but I couldn’t fit it into my schedule.

Can’t speak for Saturday’s show, but I went on Sunday and I was impressed with the overall show. From the beginning cars were able to park early, getting through security was easy, there was a full ramp of statics, the crowd line was large and not overly taken up by chalets, the flying was varied and light on loop de loopers and heavy on the jet noise - what’s not to like? The ANG that was putting it on was proactive on letting people know what to do in the case of a missing child and there were several first aid tents with water buffalos with free water and the port-a-potties were spread throughout without huge lines - all around a good experience. •(I left before the Blue Angels so I missed any late-day traffic)
