Canada Selects P-8 Poseidon to replace CP-140 Aurora

Today, we announced that Canada has selected the P-8A Poseidon as its new Multi-Mission Aircraft. This platform is a proven capability that is operated by all of Canada’s Five Eyes Allies—the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand—as well as other defence partners.

As the rules-based international order is being challenged around the world, the P-8A Poseidon will ensure Canada can meet future challenges and ongoing international commitments to collective defence with our allies through NATO and NORAD operations.

The aircraft is specialized in Anti-Submarine Warfare and Anti-Surface Warfare, and optimized for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance.
