That's certainly a bummer. I knew this would come sometime soon, but I didn't know this would be the last year for the A-10 demo.

For the USAF - please make an F-15EX Demo team (or Strike Eagle). Or better yet, have a two-ship Eagle demo team like the Growlers.

It's sad news. I've always loved the A-10 and it was nice having A-10 units within a couple hours' drive regardless of where I or my family was living at the time.

Honestly, with Davis-Monthan announcing they had started divesting A-10s that were based there, it made me wonder how much longer the Demo Team had. These jets are being retired too early, especially after having new avionics and being re-winged. Perhaps they could be used in Ukraine?

When I saw the news that the A-10s at Davis-Monthan AFB were being divested, I figured this was going to be the case. I have three shows on my schedule featuring the A-10 and may end up with five depending on how late season plans shake out. Will be a nice opportunity to say farewell.

This will create a real void for small airport shows. The A-10 was always the perfect demo for shows at airports with short runways and/or far away from major metropolitan areas. The A-10 gave these shows the opportunity to feature a strong military asset and headliner. I hope there is another asset or a commitment from the USAF to fill this void in some way.

I've just got one A-10 show on my schedule this season, that being Cleveland. Good thing about that show though is that it lasts three days instead of the normal two. I'll definitely be attending all three this year as I hope they fly both the Black Mamba and Memphis Belle II that weekend. Thinking about adding the Terre Haute show since that's closer to me as well.

Also hoping OSH might be able to snag it as it's free that weekend.
