Radar showing rain hitting Dover now.

Pretty big rain area on Radar, but should go by in 2 or 3 hours.

Afternoon does not look that bad.

Patch of rain coming in now according to radar it looks like clouds and rain break at 11:15ish so maybe just a delay.

Anyone know if the f15s are still flying? I didn’t hear them on the updated schedule.

Saw some of the static display aircraft come in... two C-130s (one from New Castle and a J-model from god knows where, heard someone say Dyess, but it had ZERO markings on it), KC-46 from McGuire, B-52 from Barksdale, C-17 from Charleston (which parked by us, I assume it's the demo bird and they're not using a Dover bird?), a couple F-15s from New Orleans and then a third later, and two Strike Eagles (Seymour Johnson?). Some civilian stuff, too. Ended up leaving the museum around 3 and went to a spot off Route 1 that was great for Runway 1 arrivals. Saw some performers come in (B-25, Patrick, the MiG-17, Rob) and then the F-35As checked the base out before landing on 32 late in the day followed by a KC-135.

All in all it was a very good day.
J model is from Dyess.

Single ship, three flat burner passes, two low approaches, then overhead break to land. Nothing too fancy but lots of noise and vapor.

Same thing as the other guy said, thought it was a 2 ship just one, had a nice surprise takeoff p-51 was on the end turning onto runway and from the other runway you just heard noise then the full burners fly past you, demo was nice really loud and a few shockwave passes.

I was only able to attend Saturday, but despite the weather's best efforts, it was an enjoyable day out. HUGE thanks to the organizers, performers, and all involved for scrambling to put a show together in the very limited window between the bands of low cloud and rain. Shame we couldn't have had a full show, but what we did get was outstanding.

Photographically speaking, not many keepers from a rather waterlogged day at Dover, which led to some condensation issues with my trusty ol' 100-400mm, but here are a few efforts:

Tried out my panning skills. Got one keeper!

For anyone who didn't attend Saturday, this about sums up the conditions up until around 1300L.

I do find rainy conditions rather conducive to creative photography...
