2019 USAF F-35A Lightning II Demo Team Schedule

Post by Airshow4444 » Tue Dec 04, 2018 6:56 pm

The USAF F-35 Heritage Team began performing in 2016. Instead of jumping straight to an aerobatic routine with the brand new aircraft, the performance was limited to performing Heritage Flights and some non-aerobatic solo flybys. Now, with a few years of airshow experience and a more mature aircraft, the team is being allowed to turn it loose and show off more dynamic maneuvers.

Wondering where you can see the F-35 next year? Luckily, the F-35 Demonstration Team’s 2019 schedule was also made public today!

Schedules often change during the year – while we try to keep this post updated, you can also check out our airshow calendar to view the latest list of airshows and aviation events, plus major performer schedules!

Have F-35 demos been planned outside of the USA? I'd be quite thrilled to see the white eleph... I mean, that masterpiece that we've been waiting for two decades flying in real life. As far as I know, the UK and a couple other Western European countries have received the first exemplaries, so why not?

I think a demo in Utah - where the first USAF squadron to stand up would be a good idea - September 28th. . . . the September schedule is LIGHT! just saying!

Hopefully we see them do more shows in the coming years. Would make sense if the base has a show, to have the demo..

Not sure. I know there have been demos before outside the states, but not sure if they plan to this time around.

If this video is anything to go by, this is looking like it could be a really good demo! The pedal turn (I think?) on the exit from the loop is fantastic, I didn't see that coming when I watched the video for the first time. There are also videos from the same training flight showing a high-alpha pass, cloverleaf and several other passes too.

No dates outside the US this year.

I'd assume/hope that, once they've found their ground, they'll venture over to Europe.

https://youtu.be/RRW0sLsB0KY (video not mine)

Full F-35 practice demo video. Here’s the new routine as per this video, might not be the final iteration but still impressive.

1. Takeoff to 1/2 Cuban 8.
2. Weapons bay door pass
3. High speed pass to reverse 1/2 Cuban 8
4. Minimum Radius Turn, then vertical reversal to pedal turn
5. Dedication pass
6. Inverted to inverted flat pass
7. High speed pass to vertical reversal w/ another pedal turn
8. Square loop (most impressive maneuver in my opinion)
9. High alpha pass to muscle climb to reverse 1/2 Cuban
10. Double aileron roll flat pass
11. High G bank away at crowd center
12. Landing
