Not much to this report but very interesting if true. A little embarrassing for it to happen with the Thunderbirds, and if it was caused by wake turbulence I hope it does not prevent future joint formations like that.Two Blue Angels pilots had a close call when their jets swiped each other during a flyover with the Thunderbirds, according to the Navy Times.
It's being called a disaster averted because although there was brief contact between the aircraft. The publication is reporting it happened Wednesday in Pensacola.
A Navy spokesman said it happened during the Blue Angel Delta formation. The jets encountered "unexpected wake turbulence".

It was overcast and sounded windy on the live streams of the event so maybe it was natural turbulence? I dunno. Hope it doesn't effect future events like this.
