Thunder Over Michigan 2018: 20 Years of Thunder
How will this affect the battles? Will we be allowed all the way up to 23L?

The change sounds great! A diagram would be cool if you can! Can anybody tell me the Tbirds frequencies for this weekend? I haven't used my scanner for a jet team yet and was wondering if you needed a specific frequency for this show or just the frequencies listed for them on Radio References website.
Thanks!
Thanks!

This new layout could be good if the Blue Angels return because they do the half squirrel cage on takeoff, along with the solo maneuvers, instead of the head on pass.
I was just at the Chicago Air and Water show and the Thunderbirds use the same frequencies that were listed on radio reference.

Thanks! It'll be nice seeing the Thunderbirds take off and perform right there in front of everybody!

Will the Thunderbirds still be parking in their normal spots? I was thinking they could park them on whatever runway they won't be using so the ground show would be in front of the crowd.

Yes. They will still be parking on that area of the hot ramp. Essentially imagine the existing crowdline and it just pivoting 45 degrees to lineup parallel with 23L/5R. The ramp will essentially remain the same, its just the seating areas/general admission areas that have changed.alexp2805- wrote: ↑Tue Aug 21, 2018 1:36 pm Will the Thunderbirds still be parking in their normal spots? The new layout sounds promising. Afternoon light will definitely be better. But how close will we be to RWY 23L? And will the performers all be using TWY G or will some still be parked on the south end and use TWY H?
Thanks

I just stopped by the TOM site for the first time this year and noticed they are doing some engine runs on Saturday night. Tickets are sold out but I'm wondering what airplanes might do a run. Anyone know?

I think the planes are still going to use the taxiways they used before. The static airplanes should still be parked the same area. The only thing I think that shifted is the layout of the show. I would expect the crowd will be the standard 1000 feet away from show center, but I could be wrong. The Thunderbirds do not like the large garbage hill.
