How has this show been in past years?
I'm hoping this C19 crap will be over by Oct!
The website ad sounds good. Does it live up to the hype?
The 2020 Aerospace Valley Air Show, featuring the Air Force Thunderbirds, is scheduled for October 10-11, 2020. A variety of military services and other organizations will be here, including the B-2 Spirit, B-1 Lancer, B-52 Stratofortress, KC-46, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, as well as your favorite aircraft. On Saturday and Sunday, October 10 to 11, EAFB will be open to the general public. No general admission tickets are required to see the show. Attendance is free and open to the public.

Perhaps I will see you there!
I am a bit bummed out at my UK trip getting spiked, so I am toying with the idea of another CA road trip.
If so, it might include:
MCAS Miramar Sept 25-27 (Blue Angels as headliners) https://www.miramarairshow.com/
Point Mugu Naval Base Ventura County air show Oct 3, 4 (Blue Angels as headliners) (Can't find a link)
Edwards AFB Aerospace Valley air show Oct 10, 11 (Thunderbirds as headliners) http://avairshow.com/

I hear you; if this drags on much longer than it already is, I will have plenty of vacation time and travel money to burn later in the year. A three week trip to hit some airshows and other sightseeing might be just what the doctor ordered.TooTallDean wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 2:48 pm Perhaps I will see you there!

You are correct the hype is causing air shows around the world to cancel, just keep faith that this show will take off.TooTallDean wrote: ↑Fri Apr 03, 2020 8:34 am How has this show been in past years?

Saddened that there were spikes in airshow cancellations, another SoCal road trip wouldn't be too bad.

Edwards posted a video to FB tonight with an update on the show.
Basically, they are not interested in letting large crowds of people come onto the base for the airshow.
Instead, they will be organizing an aerial parade of aircraft over the local area. He seemed to also mention static displays at Fox Field in Lancaster. Details are obviously TBD but for sure the show is not going ahead as originally planned.
I'll be shocked if any other base commanders come to a different conclusion. Miramar, Pensacola, and other base shows will likely follow suit.
