Memorial Day Warbird Flyovers

Post by RyanS » Thu May 21, 2020 5:25 pm

Since we only have flyovers to look forward to these days, warbird flyovers seem to be catching on especially for Memorial Day. I've seen plans from several museums and organizations around the country. Share any info you have here to help get the word out!

Here's one for Southern California
An 18-plane formation of historic warbirds will fly the skies above the Inland Empire and Orange and Los Angeles counties on Memorial Day, saluting “veterans who gave so much,” as well as health care workers taking risks daily amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The formation has 19 designated flyover locations, listed below, in order of the planned itinerary, with the operation starting about noon on May 25:

Loma Linda University Medical Center
Riverside National Cemetery
Anaheim
St. Joseph Hospital, Tustin
John Wayne International Airport
Pacific View Memorial Park, Corona Del Mar
Newport Beach
Long Beach Veterans Administration Hospital
The Queen Mary
USS Iowa Memorial
Green Hills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes
Zamperini Airport, Torrance
Los Angeles International Airport
Santa Monica Airport
Los Angeles National Cemetery
UCLA Medical Center
USC Medical Center
City of Hope Hospital
Chino Municipal Airport

Dynamic Aviation honored those working on the front lines of COVID-19 with a flyover they called "Salute to Our Heroes."
